Abstract Paintings

Jeff’s latest paintings started late in 2016 of textural, colorful, and sometimes muted tones that create uniquely captivating imagery of abstraction that encompass the art movements of Abstract Expressionism and Color Field intentness from the 1940’s to present with artist’s like Mark Rothko, Robert Motherwell, & Jackson Pollock being strong influences in both theme and philosophy. Throw in our current Postmodernism of reworking and mixing past styles together with influences to artist’s like Gerard Richter and Anselm Kiefer and you get the ideology and painting processes that Jeff both uses and experiments with.

His latest paintings transport the viewers on a unique journey of visual discovery as they contemplate and wonder on the effects of the application of paint and with what the colors may be portraying within their respective perception of finding a relation to something that is abstract in nature yet somehow still grounded in a reality.
